Below are highlights of the interview:
What are the key goals and objectives you have set for Nomadic Advertising?
At Nomadic Advertising, we believe that all great companies deserve to be discovered. Our key goal continues to be helping more innovative companies get discovered online. Why? Because I believe that together, we can make a difference in this world.
So, I’m looking for groundbreaking companies that need help taking their growth to the next level. When you join forces with me, you’re not just hiring a marketer – you’re gaining a partner dedicated to your success, growth, and innovation.
How would you describe the company culture at Nomadic Advertising, and how do you ensure it is maintained throughout the organization?
The digital marketing team here at Nomadic Advertising consists of many different kinds of backgrounds. While our goal to help businesses establish an engaging online brand is straightforward, we believe that there is more to being a great company than just delivering a great service. We have 5 values that our team uses as a lens when looking for how to approach difficult decisions, they are:
People: We are in the people business first and foremost. We invest in our employees and build close relationships with our clients.
Global: We hire the best talent in the world to work for us no matter where they are and work hard to retain them.
Results-Driven: We base our success on tangible results, not useless metrics, both internally and for our clients.
Innovative: We don’t just follow trends; we set them.
Transparent: We are always transparent with our employees and our clients, even when the unexpected happens.
What are the biggest challenges you face as CEO, and how do you address them?
We work in the digital marketing space, where there is constant change and we always have to be on top of it. One of the biggest challenges we face is making sure that we are constantly ahead of our competitors. It’s not enough to simply copy their approach; we strive to be trailblazers in our space. Approaching this challenge requires me to not only be a business CEO focused on the numbers and operations of the business but also to get my hands dirty with the latest tech. Fortunately for me, I see this as an opportunity and embrace the change. I enjoy learning new things and staying on top of the latest trends.
How do you foster innovation within Nomadic Advertising?
We do regular weekly training with our team, which allows everyone to share new tips and tricks that they have learned. Since the industry we are in is very fast-paced and constantly changing, it’s important for us to keep the team skilled in all the latest trends. This is also an opportunity for our team to brainstorm new technology and use cases for it.
Can you share any recent success stories or significant accomplishments of Nomadic Advertising under your leadership?
Nomadic Advertising is proud to have been chosen for the MarTech Awards as the “Best Digital Marketing Agency – Canada” our agency is also proud to be Google and Meta Business Partners.
In your opinion, what sets Nomadic Advertising apart from its competitors?
The big thing that sets us apart from the competition is our unique company culture and the people who make it. This company culture affects all aspects of our business. That’s why we put people first in everything we do, whether internally or externally.
Being remote first shows our dedication to creating a comfortable environment for our employees, and being able to adjust to the quickly changing digital environment we all find ourselves in today.
Having a remote team doesn’t just bring cultural benefits; it also allows us to be more agile and hire the best people in the industry. A remote company has access to an infinitely larger pool of candidates compared to companies that only hire locally.
Clients can say goodbye to time-consuming visits to the office; a quick video call or email can be scheduled and completed on the same day. If they are curious to see how their campaign is performing they can access all the numbers from our real time updating dashboard. Not to mention the cost savings that we pass down to our clients by not having expensive office costs.
Our clients love working with our team because we are reliable, kind, and experienced. Unlike some agencies that see their clients as numbers and typically focus on one industry so they can execute the same strategy for every client, we strive to work closely with our clients to create a strategy customized to represent them in a unique way based on their company’s strengths and vision.
Our personable, remote, people first approach is what makes working with Nomadic Advertising a truly unique experience for every client of ours.
What measures do you take to maintain a healthy work-life balance as a CEO?
Many people wrongly think that more hours worked means more gets done; it seems logical. But I have discovered that it doesn’t actually work that way, it’s better to work fewer hours consistently than many hours sporadically. I stick to a regular 9-5 schedule, which makes me available when my clients and team need me most. At the end of the day, I don’t measure my success based on hours worked, and my goal is to always do more with less.
